Jamie Ko

CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST

 

Jamie (she/her) is a clinical psychologist, who completed her Masters of Clinical Psychology at Griffith University in 2020. During her post-graduate training, she completed a dissertation on the effect of guilt reduction on mental contamination (internal feelings of dirtiness in the absence of direct physical contact with a source), a type of contamination fear associated with OCD.

Jamie has acquired work experience across diverse clinical settings including within a non-profit organisation, disability service, school, acute mental health settings, working with veterans, and private practice. In these roles, she has worked with a variety of clinical presentations, and has experience in delivering evidence-based treatments for anxiety disorders, OCD, and other related disorders.

Jamie has developed a keen interest in working with children, adolescents, and adults with anxiety disorders, OCD, body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), body focussed repetitive behaviours (BFRBs) and tic disorders.

Jamie has a warm, compassionate and genuine nature when working with clients.  She also aims to provide a culturally safe therapeutic space for clients from all walks of life. Although treatment can be challenging, Jamie believes that her clients can overcome their difficulties in a safe and supportive environment.

JAMIE IS CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS. SHE IS AVAILABLE TO SEE CLIENTS ON MONDAYS, TUESDAYS, AND WEDNESDAYS.
